Ok, I have not posted for a long time, but I have something to share with you.

If you haven't heard Pastor Steve( Pastor of Capital Baptist Church) has lost 70lbs over the last 14 months. So he decided to help others in the church lose weight. He started a sermon series about weigh loss and a weight loss competition. It's surprising how much media publicity our church has been getting. We had reporters from the Washington post, NBC4, New zealand, The Netherlands, Germany and so on. Anyway, I say all this to set up the video that I posted. Pastor Steve went on Fox News and had an interview on national TV.  After his interview finished they had a lady on to respond to what Pastor Steve said. All you debaters need to watch this you can pick out fallacies like picking candy out of a candy bowl. And I think the whole clip is quite humorous.

College has begun!!!

I have been in class for two week now. So far so good. I am enjoying my college experience. The classes which I take are: Honors English, Honors Calculus, US history, Speech, and a course that freshmen must take. In total it is 15 hours of class per week.

I hope all those you who have signed your life away once again to speech and debate will enjoy your year. I hope you all do very well.

This is my mother and I with our Chinese translator, Sofia. She attends college in Shanghai. She majors in Italian, so she works as a tour guide to Italians in the summer.

the Frog story continued

Where was I.... They boys were hitting the poor frog like a hockey puck. They hit the frog for about 20 yards. The girls run away. It was then Time to start class so I instructed the boys to take the frog back to the pond. Once again the frog was hit like a hockey puck back to the pond. It just so happens that about ten feet from the edge of the pond the frog dies. The hockey game came to a sudden stop. there was silence. the boys with stick began to poke the frog to confirm his death. After several poke and still no natural movement from the frog.  Now the sight of a dead creature is no laughing matter, but laugh they did. This laugh can not be classified as a chuckle. It was just below a hearty laugh. Then to my surprise the boys started to say something. And what they said I believe proves my thesis, in China kids are cruel to animals. The boys began to repeatedly say "game over." When I heard this, I broke out into laughter. The frog was then slapped shot one more time into the pond.

I'm going to college!!

I have signed up for classes, bought my books and I'm ready to go. I had a great summer. I hope you had a great summer. I will tell you a story from my trip in China.

It is my observation that in China there is no PETA nor do the kids act kindly towards animals. One day while my students have a break from class, the boys went to a near by pond about 20 yards away. In this pond there are huge floating frogs. The boys with bamboo sticks beat started to beat the frog. After this they decided to get the frog out of the pond and scare the girls with it. They then hit they frog like a hokey puck. to be continued....

I’M BACK!!!!!

IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE!!!!!!

I WANT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!

CAN YOU SEE MY EXCITEMENT!!!!!!

I arrived home on Tuesday night. We had a safe trip. I climbed the Great Wall of China, walked through the Forbidden City, attended an international church service where I sang in Chinese (that was awesome!), petted water buffalo, but above all I got to meet, teach, hang out, laugh and cry, play ping pong, become friends for life with THE COOLEST KIDS IN THE WORLD, my campers and helpers at Camp Guiyang.

I miss them….

There are too many stories to tell. I cannot tell you all of them.

I think you all would like to here some funny stories. I feel sad and depressed that I’m not in China right now with all my new friends, so instead of telling you a story I will show you some funny pictures.

Here are some pictures of signs in Chinese then translated into English. I know you’ll enjoy.

When ever I need a laugh I look at these signs.

If you can understand what this sign is trying to say you are good, really really good. Tell me what you think this sign means.

I'm glad and sad to be back.......
